I will update this post if they ever send me what they promise per their website.

The site is quite new so even though it's very likely that it is a scam, you might be one of the lucky ones who participated early enough to get a payout. If they get enough people falling for it, it's likely they'll payout the first 'investors' from the funds of the new 'investors' to encourage more people to join in and existing users to invest more (aka a Ponzi scheme). Just don't be tempted to re-invest if you're lucky enough to get paid!

If you are thinking of investing in any bitcoin type scheme, you might want to check out this website first: https://www.sec.gov/oiea/investor-alerts-bulletins/investoralertsia_bitcoin.html

Quote from SEC wesite:
As with any investment, be careful if you spot any of these potential warning signs of investment fraud:

  • “Guaranteed” high investment returns. There is no such thing as guaranteed high investment returns. Be wary of anyone who promises that you will receive a high rate of return on your investment, with little or no risk.

Unsolicited offers. An unsolicited sales pitch may be part of a fraudulent investment scheme. Exercise extreme caution if you receive an unsolicited communication – meaning you didn’t ask for it and don’t know the sender – about an investment opportunity.

Unlicensed sellers. Federal and state securities laws require investment professionals and their firms who offer and sell investments to be licensed or registered. Many fraudulent investment schemes involve unlicensed individuals or unregistered firms. Check license and registration status by searching the SEC’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure (IAPD) website or FINRA’s BrokerCheck website.

No net worth or income requirements. The federal securities laws require securities offerings to be registered with the SEC unless an exemption from registration applies. Most registration exemptions require that investors are accredited investors. Be highly suspicious of private (i.e., unregistered) investment opportunities that do not ask about your net worth or income.

Sounds too good to be true. If the investment sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Remember that investments providing higher returns typically involve more risk.

Pressure to buy RIGHT NOW. Fraudsters may try to create a false sense of urgency to get in on the investment. Take your time researching an investment opportunity before handing over your money.

Just to add to this, even though I think we're all pretty unanimous that all the signs point to this being a scam ....

I decided to email the company (as a potential investor) to give them chance to explain their investment model and how they are able to guarantee such good returns. I pointed them to this BitcoinTalk discussion thread and suggested that they answer people's concerns and scepticisms.

I sent the email to: General Email: info@investorbitcoin.com

A couple of days went by, no reply.

So I forwarded the email to: Business Email: affiliate@investorbitcoin.com

Within hours I received the following rather abrupt and unhelpful reply:

We cannot control any forum posts, and we cannot answer to so called "haters" complaints, all the information you need is already public .

Thank you for understanding .

With Regards,

Paul Wolt

Consultant at Investor Bitcoin Inc.

+1 607 654 0670

So I replied, politely requesting clarification, specifically on which information (on their website) I should be reading to understand how they are able to provide such good returns.

I am yet to receive a reply (days later).

So I think we can conclude with something like 99.99999% certainty that it's a scam.

It seems Investor Bitcoin has made it on to the bad list too: http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/index.htm

Investorbitcoin.com: Hyip frauds like this one are mass produced. Don't be that fresh sucker that they are fishing for. 2/21/17

What concerns me is when the likes of CoinTelegraph publish articles, promoting these scams:
https://cointelegraph.com/press-releases/bitcoin-investment-opportunity-with-investor-bitcoin

To be fair they do point out (with a very faint gray disclaimer):
Quote
This is a paid press release. CoinTelegraph does not endorse and is not responsible for or liable for any content, accuracy, quality, advertising, products or other materials on this page.
But I think the article should be removed or at the very least contain a clear warning.

Does anyone here have a contact for CoinTelegraph?

Scams like this harm the reputation of cryptocurrencies. I think we should do what we can to warn people.

13.WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT?

The minimum investment amount is only 0.2 bitcoin for basic package and the maximum amount is $500,000 for VIP.

14.CAN I MAKE ADDITIONAL INVESTMENTS AT ANY TIME?

Yes, there is no limitation. You can make as many deposits as you want.

One thing that hits me is the minimum is 0.2BTC, at the moment it's 230USD, which isn't some pocket money. They don't allow small fish to play and take only serious deposits, but what amazes me is the maximum amount. They are offering such enormous returns and can receive sums like $500k, without breaking a sweat, because right below that they are saying there's no limit and you can make many deposits, so if you send them 3x $500k they claim to be ok with it. To be able to operate on such sums they'd need enormous liquidity, like a large bank at least. IMO they are just greedy and waiting for a big fish to invest and once they gather up a couple of those VIP investors, they will shut it down and fly back to Nigeria.

**INVESTORBITCOIN.COM** STAY AWAY THIS IS MOST DEFIANTLY A SCAM FROM INITIAL RESEARCH**

This has a red flag written all over it. First of all they guarantee returns on investment. This is investing 101, someone guarantees you money in return for doing nothing is generally a scam. Generally if it sounds to good to be true, it generally is to good to be true and you will be taken for a ride. Now some surprising things about this most likely fake company, it says it's out of New York.
5 E. Market Street
Corning, New York 14830
Interesting enough if you do a street view on google maps ( there is not even a company in this building from the looks of it named "investorbitcoin" but interestingly enough there is a bank there(M&T BANK)?? Maybe some involvement on some sort of elaborate ponzi scheme..
Doing a lookup on their domain you can see that this domain was just registered: (This should be a red flag to, they are a brand new company that had 4 million flow through in February according to this article https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/investor-bitcoin-investment-plans-guarantees-zero-losses/
investorbitcoin.com

Website is being hosted on a IP out of Amsterdam
They are using name servers here> thcservers.com > most likely hosting there site with them as well, and THCservers.com is out of ROMANIA.

I would be very leery about this company and would advise people to be extremely cautious if you are evening thinking about sending them your hard earned bitcoins!
