JavaScript != Java

I keep seeing instances of people confusing JavaScript with Java. They sound the same but they are totally different languages used for different things.

Web browsers would normally run Javascript. They would rarely run Java. If you ever get a pop-up claiming you should run a Java applet be very suspicious.


If you already know this please don't flame me.

Java should be disabled by default on all browsers anyways, and require writing hello world in Java to unlock.
