Apologies for (yet another) newbie question.

I have a small regular bitcoin income that I would like to exchange for uk GBP £.

I have looked at bitpay.com (awaiting verification, but not hopefull as it seems geared to companies rather than indivuduals) and mt.gox, but am worried about the two week wait.

Are there any reputable uk based exchanges that handle speedy currency conversions and withdrawals to a uk bank account?

Thanks!

Myrddin.

UK definitely needs a reliable exchange, mtgox is probably best but charges for £GBP exchanges are way higher than $USD

I have used  https://www.aurumxchange.com  many times. You will receive less value than the coins and there is a £15GBP fee for International Wire transfer. But they are quick and reliable,   I have traded with them for almost 2 months now and every transaction was flawless, and very quick.

I have used them for

BTC to LR
LR to BTC
BTC - GBP
LR - GBP

All worked fine. Immediate payment from BTC to LR and vice versa.

Well worth a look,

So maybe i'm being a numpty but what exactly to Gox charge for say £1000 or even £5000 withdrawals to a UK bank? I have checked with my bank (HSBC) and they will charge me £8 just to receive the funds! :O

best way is via transfer wire to bitstamp...

there is an issue atm accepting gbp at exchanges, so most wont accept...

I use transfer wire -> euro -> bitstamp
takes about 48hrs, and costs very little due to conversion via euro

See my sig for a free transfer from transferwire

although bitstamp is offline atm (has been for an hour two), it at least is a uk company

Is that not to make a deposit? I'm talking about "cashing in my chips" and taking the GBP out of the bitcoin exchanges.

he wants to sell bitcoins for GBP, not buy them

localbitcoins is an option, but it can be a bit of a hassle sometimes

using an international exchange exposes you to transfer fees

i would say your best bet is bitcoinfridge.co.uk

While they may be registered in the UK, it appears as if they are actually doing business in Slovenia. No big ideal, but it's good to know.
