If you wont, then don't start mining. And in those cards, there is 4GB of RAM difference.
Hope this helps Smiley

Fail to plan, and you plan to fail.

Lower memory in itself has no impact on m ining performance, but the 4GB variants usually come with slower clocked memory than the 8GB variants which reduces performance in some algos.

The MSI RX480 4GB can do a maximum of 28 mh/s
The MSI RX 480 8GB can do a maximum of 31mh/s
The MSI RX470 4GB can do a maximum of 28 mh/s as well, so that is the most cost effective option

Getting to those maximum values though is the tricky part. Browse through the forums and you will find several guides. Happy mining.

Do not go for the rx480 4g it's waste of money if you want 4g card then buy the rx470 , if you want the rx480 then buy the 8g version .

I can confirm this. My brother bought a Sapphire RX 480 Nitro 4GB and it's always slower than my daughter's Sapphire RX 470 Nitro 8GB.
