If Bitcoin can't fix the scaling issue then the future of cryptocurrency will be something else that exceeds bitcoin. Are there any ICO's that we should get excited about as a possible bitcoin replacement? I've read the white papers on minexcoin and while skeptical of the numbers, it seems like a forward thinking idea. Also any idea where to find information on new and upcoming projects?

So far I can't find any and if there is one it's not going to be an ico, because bitcoin is not an ico coin, and if you want to find interesting to coin to launch go to the altcoin announcement page this is where the all the circus happens but only invest at your own risk.

I've got two things to tell you:
1. an altcoin with an ICO will never even be able to come close to bitcoin, let alone exceed it. you forgot that the ICO is there for the developer to make a quick amount of free money.

2. have you even checked the numerous issues that altcoins have with scaling? I really doubt it. I suggest doing some research in this matter and see that they have even more problems that will make you beg for the problems of bitcoin Smiley
but people usually compare bitcoin, a massively used cryptocurrency with about 350,000 transactions each day with an altcoin with barely 1,000 transaction per day and think that altcoin doesn't have bitcoin's scaling issues.
