I got the first 80% of the blockchain synchronized within about 6 hours, but the last 20% has just dragged on forever. Probably 4 or 5 days now. Anyone seen this before?

For Litecoin you can download a fresh blockchain backup from http://blockchain.litecoin.net/litecoin/

make sure you read the readme at http://blockchain.litecoin.net/README.TXT on how to use it. Basically you unpack, then run "litecoind -rescan" to refresh the database.

It's much faster to download from here than to download from the network for most people.

maybe there is one for Bitcoin as well.
