BTC-E has a few alt-coins that can be traded for USD or BTC, and I could see Mtgox maybe opening up to Litecoin if it gains more popularity (and they beef up their servers).

I haven't read much that really makes me think the other crypto currencies will take off...people are slowly adopting BTC, so I couldn't imagine the argument behind accepting LTC (or others) as well.  They just don't offer anything different.

Remember when Napster first came out?
How about yahoo?
Do you remember my space?

The first people on the scene always make a lot of money but they almost never end up being the top dog.  I recommend you not only accept that crypto currency will take over, but be very aware of the new cryptos that come into the spotlight, you never know when the next Google will pop up.

I think we will see litecoin on MTGOX before late summer.
As GPU miners move from BTC to LTC a lot more people will be interested in trading LTC.

I believe that Litecoin will catch on due to the fact that the transaction times are faster and that it is protected from ASIC since it utilizes Scrypt hashes. The trick in getting new alt coins out there is the push from developers and supporting people getting the name out there.
