Was supposed to be a 3x 1000FC for 25LTC trade. He even agreed to it in the beginning, and after I sent him the first 1000FC, he kept asking for the other 2k FC without sending any LTC. He also kept feigning ignorance to the whole concept of 3x 1000FC as opposed to 1x 3000FC. Most likely the ignorance was just trying to delay so he could scam more people before being labeled a scammer.

I do feel like I seemed hasty to get him labeled a scammer... but it seemed too fishy, and I wanted to get him pinned correctly on the likely chance that he may have been scamming other people as well.

One newbie trusting another newbie over one of the lesser known alt. currencies was bound to work well.

WTF were you thinking?

Seriously.  Always be cautious if you're a newbie and someone approaches you via PM.  Be especially cautious if that person is also a newbie.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Well, I'll be honest. I'm not entirely surprised or rattled. Though I lessened the risk by breaking up the transactions into smaller amounts, I should have been smarter about it.

I guess as a newbie, I should only trade with someone that has more trust in the community than I do, since I don't have any credibility to request them to go first.

In the end, though I'm out 1000FC, hopefully I've learned enough to get burned for less in the future.
