Picked up a 6870 recently for mining for a secondary rig. Card I got is right here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202032&IsVirtualParent=1The unusual thing that I noticed is that I seem to be getting around 100 mhash/s more than I should. Running stock core @ 900mhz and getting 400 mhash/s +- 10 mhash/s over 24 hours instead of about ~300 mhash/s that seems to be the normal based on the bitcoin hardware comparison and other posts that I've found.
It's definitely a good surprise though I'm still wondering what the reason is. Is there anything different about this card to differentiate it against a normal 6870 as it doesn't seem to be different. Using GPU-Z and I'm sure that it's not auto-OC'ing under a load. Seems like performance that I would be getting from a 5870. If 6870s have changed (doubt for an old generation) and I can get performance like this I would consider getting another one for another rig that's not running. What are your opinions on this?
