Hi forum buddies,

I  joined this forum originally because the Ripple web client has a big Bitcoin icon saying that BC users can get free ripples from a topic on the bitcointalk forum . After a lot of work to get out of the newbie jail ;-), I was finally able to post my address:

Weeks later, nothing, nada, zilch

I guess the offer expired but why do they continue to show this so prominently in the client if it is too late?

Despite all that, I'm glad I joined this forum. Good luck all bitcoiners, ripplers and other altcoiners  Cheesy

Yes, the offer is expired.
They also claim other things that aren't true yet, like being opensource.
I wouldn't invest anything in Ripple at the moment.

It's bit sad as the general idea of Ripple isn't that bad.

As far as i'm aware, the ScamRipple giveaway requires you to have joined in February or before, not June.

BA Computer Science, University of Oxford
Dissertation was about threat modelling on distributed ledgers.

There was a newer give away where 1000 XRP were distributed if you had joined their newsletter some time before 1st of June (thats when I got my email).
Their faucet of free Ripples pretty much dried out though. Wasnt it 50k XRP in the first place, now 1k if you are lucky and next up probably -200 XRP from your ripple account unless you sign up 4 weeks before hand on some unknown service they dont tell anyone till the day is up.
...
Yep Wink
