Hello everybody,

i am a new User and have a (small) problem, and would be extremely happy if you could give me some Tipps or Tricks, i read some threads already but couldnt find an answer.

So I use Electrum as my Wallet, and i sent about 0.02 Bitcoins to a Coin Mixer (coinmixer.se). Usually this always works, and takes no longer than 12 hours or so. This time however it says "Low Fee" and an exclamation mark, in the bottom of Electrum it also says (0.02 unconfirmed).

When going to my Coin Mixer Status Site (which refreshes automatically every other second), the confirmations still stand at: 0/3. Above that, it says: Remaining time until the Input Adresses Expires: 4 days.

So now i am worried, that this could take weeks or months, and the Input Adresses of my Coin Mixer will expire, and the money will be lost! My Knowledge on the Topic of Bitcoins is really low at this time, i now know that the problem is a too low fee, but i do not even know how to SET the fee, i never did it, and it always worked, so my questions now are:

1) How in future do i make sure, the fee is enough, WHERE do i "type it in" or "set" it? In Electrum i found an option, "Enable Replace by Fee", i activated this yesterday, but nothing happened? Where do i do it?

2) In THIS case, what do i need to do, to get my money back, respectively, to get the money over to my coin mixer quickly, i read that you can ask someone to mine it, but how do i do this, or can i just delete the transaction and make a new one (with a high enough fee this time)?!

Thank you very much for all your help, Brett

Enable Manual fees and Replace by fees on Electrum.

Click on the pending transaction menu to increase fees.

You can also try to accelerate it using ViaBTC

Hey, thank you for your answer, but i am afraid i need to ask again.
So what i did now is, in the settings, i enabled "replace by fee", AND "manually edit fees" and DISABLED "use dynamic fees". After this nothing happened, you said: "click on the pending transaction menu", what does this mean? In Electrum i tried (double) clicking on this transaction, but nothing happens, could you explain again where i can increase the fee?

Concerning ViaBTC, i never used it and dont know how i can accelerate with it Sad

Thanks !

Go to Tools > Preferences at top of Electrum. Under Fees tab put a check mark next to 'use dynamic fees' and also next to 'enable replace-by-fee'. While you are setting preferences go to appearance and set base unit to BTC. Now when you send a transaction move the fee slider to high and also put a check mark next to 'replaceable'. With the high fee setting your transaction should go through no problem. If you don't have a confirmation in an hour just click on the transaction and bump the fee up. It is also a good idea to read the Electrum user manual so you know what you are doing with your expensive bitcoin.

The ViaBTC tool is at https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ just follow instructions.

By the way mixers no longer work. See this reddit thread for an overview.

No you can not delete it. Click on the transaction in question so you can look at it in a block explorer. Copy the transaction ID and paste it into the ViaBTC accelerator and they will include it in the next block they mine. They only accept a limited number of txids an hour so you may need to keep trying.
