Seriously are we such low achievers that we need to celebrate survival?

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

Some of us celebrate surviving another day, much less a whole year. Wink

So, we should be singing "Congrats on 1095 meals successfully acquired," or "Hooray for avoiding lethal injury for another year"?

For some, continued survival is goal enough.

Or we could look at it as celebrating the anniversary of the date your parents achieved a very important goal: procreation. (though in that case, we should probably send the gifts to them.)
