Here is what I am thinking..

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 AMD AM3+ Motherboard  --- 79.99
   AMD Sempron™ 145 Energy Efficient Processor AM3  -- $35.99
   DDR3 4GB 1866MHz DUAL = $32.99
   Enermax Power Supply 500w x 2 $37 = $74
        XFX AMD Radeon HD 7950 Core Edition 3GB PCI-Express x 3 298.95 =  896.85

Thoughts?

Sounds like a really cheap power supply to me, I know Enermax are a decent brand but those sound like budget supplies which are the last thing I want in a device running 24/7 with expensive gpu's. Do you have a link to the power supplies you are looking at?

This super cheap build..  I am going to back the super cheap power supply with a UPS just to ensure the power is clean.

I am building a quad 7950 setup too and got mostly that same hardware setup, I would go with a better psu for sure.  I did a seasonic gold plus, but that was almost as much as one of the cards.

Even for $50 more than your projected cost you can get a decent 1000w single psu

The supplies seem to have ok reviews and the spec seems decent enough, I wouldn't use them personally but you could definitely do worse. Still seem suspiciously cheap to me. I'm going to take a punt and say they probably aren't made by Enermax and are probably OEM supplies using the name.
