Crowdfunding through bitcoin?

I visited several bitcoin related crowdfunding website, but it seems that they are not very active.

Why? (though crowdfunding through bitcoin is seemly promising...)

I was thinking about starting the same. It's difficult to get your money out of bitcoin, and to be honest- who is going to fund you? Other bitcoiners, right? It's not widely available. I am still thinking about it, but it's probably a ways off still.
