Hello! I am here to present an unoriginal idea with a new name! BitRaff! The Bitcoin Raffle which supports Newbies! Here is a brief explanation of how it all plays out:

-500 tickets
-.01BTCs per ticket
-50%, or 2.5 BTCs go to 5 Winners (.5BTCs per Winner)
-40%, or 2.0 BTCs go to 4 Newbies (.5BTCs per Newbie)
-10%, or 0.5BTCs goes into my personal Bitcoin wallet
--50 Ticket MAX, per person, so the winners will be chosen fairly! All tickets bought over 50 will have the BTCs (>.5BTC) sent back
--All Tickets bought after the 5 BTC max jackpot will be refunded

Now it is time to explain how I will choose the five Winners:
1st, I will wait until I get 5 BTC in tickets sold (500 tickets).
2nd, I will open an excel spreadsheet and copy down each address one time, per cell, vertically, for each ticket bought by that address. For example say BTC address "1amcool" sends me .25 BTCs, I will enter the address "1amcool", 25 times (for 25 tickets), vertically (from cell A1 to A25).
3rd, I will pick, using a random number generator, 5 numbers, under 500, and they will correspond with the BTC addresses on that line of the excel spreadsheet.
4th, I will send the BTCs to the 5 winners addresses!
5th, For the newbies, I will start a giveaway in the Newbie thread.
(EDIT:) It is possible for a BTC address to be picked twice, but highly unlikely.

To buy tickets, send BTCs to this address:

1. 10% house edge is too high
2. Not provably fair.
3. No way to enforce 50 tickets max per person. I can use multiple addresses
4. Who the fuck would want to play a raffle with 0.5 EV
5. Supporting newbies is not charity. Supporting registered nonprofits may be a good idea, but not random newbies
6. You're too new.

Aint gonna happen burtha.

Do some more research before posting. There's many websites that offer very similar stuff and have a great reputation.

This may have worked 2 years ago (Maybe...) but not now days.

1. What is a good "House Edge"?
2. Could you give me an idea on how to make it fair?
3. Okay, didnt think about that...
4. What would be a good ticket price, ticket count, winner count, and "jackpot" size be?
5. Okay, well my second thought would be to support Habitat for Humanity-Haiti, for I am going there mid-summer to help build homes...sound ok?
6. So what you're saying is I should develop a "rep" before going and posting something like this?

Also, why so "nicht-so-nett? Instead of using cuss words and trying to drive me away, you could give me an idea on how to make it work, and other good advice.

Well I was hoping to make this more of a small thing, kept within the forums, not offload it to a website and advertise it all over. And I was hoping that people would be trusting enough to buy ticket so I could gain a reputation...

I think we're just trying to say it isn't going to work. Maybe try innovating something that already exists within the Bitcoin world & then releasing that. Releasing something like this which has been done so many times isn't going to get you anywhere, you're just going to end up wasting your time.

You should have also done a bit of research before hand and looked into the games that already exist (Peerbet....) along with stuff like house edge. Your raffle just doesn't appeal in any aspects what so ever.

I see... alright well that stinks... Time to go back to the drawing board I guess, eh?
