I am new to desktop wallets and I think jumped the gun.

I wasn't sure what wallet to use and after seeing that people say that Armory is secure I went with it not fully knowing how it works.  So I created a wallet, and sent a .03 of  a bitcoin to my wallet.  I did this right after i created my Armory wallet but while the Armory wallet showed node offline.  I looked and saw that I should run Bitcoin core so I downloaded it, ran it and got the blockchain info up to date over the past few days and still, nothing shows up in Armory.

I rebooted my machine started Bitcoin core then started Armory and waited for it to do it's thing and still nothing in my wallet. Am I screwed because Armory wasn't online at the time I created the wallet?  I checked the address on blockchain.info and the Bitcoin is there, but I just cant see it in my Armory wallet?  Armory still keeps saying the node is offline.
I have tried with and without the setting to let Armory run the Bitcoincore/bitcoinid in the background.

I did create a paper backup in Armory so I have that if that even applies in this case.

Did I noob the hell out of this transaction and screw myself out of some bitcoin?

Your coins are fine. You don't understand how Bitcoin transactions work at all. If you are interested in Bitcoin and intent to get invested in this experiment, you should read about the basics. Then you will understand why expecting your coins to be lost because your wallet was offline at the time of reception is an absurdity. Do yourself a favor and research this tech, you'll be much better off and highly increase your potential at success.

I totally get that i don't fully understand how the Blockchain works and I am trying to understand little by little.

My concern was not that my wallet was offline at the time of reception.  I already know that doesn't matter.  It was that when I created my Armory wallet and the addresses generated it was saying Node Offline at the bottom right and has not been online even after attempting to troubleshoot and I had sent bitcoin to an address created by Armory.

How can I get my Armory wallet to say node online? Will the blockchain know that the wallet address belongs to my desktop wallet once I get things sorted within Armory?

Any troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

For some reason thankfully Armory is now showing as connected and the block numbers in the lower right.  But the address I had sen the Bitcoin to shows up under the unused address list in Armory.  Anyone have any thoughts?

Check the number where it says connected.  Most likely it is not yet fully synced.  Once your wallet is synced, the number will be the number of the last block as can be seen on block explorers such as this one: https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin/

Currently, that number is 478167, if the number you see in Armory is lower, then Bitcoin Core has not yet synced your blockchain.

Another possibility is of course that your transaction has not confirmed on the block chain due to too low a fee.  Can you find it on a block explorer?

I looks like it went through to the address I sent it to. Although when in coinbase lloking at the transaction it says it has 223 confirmations although I click to it and it takes me to a page on blockr.io that says "Transaction Unknown".

setSatoshiDir: directory does not exist: C:\Users\brandon\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\
Armory is not able to find where your Bitcoin Core is storing the blockchain data... so it is unable to sync up and find all your transactions.

Where did you install Bitcoin Core to? and what is the "Datadir" that it is using? (in Bitcoin Core: "Help -> Debug Window", check the Datadir value)
