Flood and fire proof wallet maker

I haven't seen anybody mention a metal label maker as a way of constructing a damage-resistant wallet:

Does anybody know if the metal tape this thing uses would survive a house fire?

It only does uppercase letters and numbers, but you could add a "." after a number that was intended to be lowercase.
