Where did the notion that it will happen in 2 months come from? All I saw from the MtGox statement was "soon"

Op started the notion.  The new trading platform will be released in around a month from now.  I see litecoins being release before or with it.

My guess is that we will actually(for once) see a real cryptocurrency bubble as people flock to buy Litecoins for "cheap," as they missed out on buying cheap bitcoins.  Then once the price has risen substantially, it will crash, and people will again turn to bitcoin and wonder why they bought litecoin in the first place.  Maybe...

Bitcoiners, you still haven't answered any of my points.

Also, I found this:

Of course we dont need that many, but what is stopping people from competing and improving. Look at how many credit cards there are.

Feathercoin improves nothing. Oh, 4 times more coins.  LOL, there is zero reason why feathercoin is valued as much as it is in the first week of its' debut.

Feathercoin is for people/noobs who missed the BTC boat and the LTC boat and who can't mine even LTC efficiently with their rigs anymore. This is why FC even exists, oh also for get rich quick scammers.  It is a parasite.

I won't do business with anyone trying to hype FC. I put them on ignore immediately.

Oh, ignore op.

Cheers.

I find this deliciously funny.  Cheesy

Nope sorry.  No logic.  Neither the wiki nor the poster uses logic.  LTC is going to Gox.  It's time for BTCers to deal with it.  No matter what you say you can't change that LTC is headed to GOX.  Defame all you can it's futile and we all see right through it.

Really?

Quote
problem is; its just a copy of btc with holes in it and there is no development behind it to improve upon it.

I wonder, is it susceptible to the same fork we had some weeks ago? Lastest Bitcoin version is patched, but is Litecoin?
The github repo shows no activity in the code for at least 6 months.

Are the contracts implemented in Litecoin?

Are there multisignature transactions?

Is there a block size limit? Will it be removed/modified?

Has anyone looked to add Zerocoin on top of Litecoin?

I see a bunch of dedicated developers for Bitcoin, but I don't really see anything on the Litecoin side, except some people trying to hype it.

IMHO its biggest problem atm: someone arranges 300K half-decent CPUs and the network will be 51%ed, not that difficult for some botnet operators.

If LTC can survive for another 1-2 years, with the network hashrate growing by another 10-fold, I can see it as "here to stay", now it still isn't.

I think in Satoshi's paper, the argument for why you wouldn't expect a 51% attack was that it wouldn't be economical for the attacker. That's still true for Litecoin. You wouldn't make money doing it, you would just cause chaos.

But what if Litecoin got to a point at which it was threatening Bitcoin, and someone decided that by performing a 51% attack on litecoin, crashing the price, their bitcoins could be worth much more money.

Oh, sorry I put you on ignore earlier...  Don't worry, I'll put you back on ignore once I've answered.

And your questions that have already been answered many times over in other threads.  LTC is on schedule for the devs putting out a massive update on LTC, any day now.  Take the time to read.  Learn something.  Sorry I'm done answering to trolls, idiots, and people that can't see the forest for the trees.  You are no longer worth my time.

LTC is going to Gox.... Deal with it.

Cheers.
