I forgot the password for my Blackcoin QT wallet. For this wallet I used a standard phrase plus some numbers. I wrote it down. So, I still remember most of the password. Probably I just mistyped one letter.

After several unsuccessful tries I started to work on a (restricted) brute force attack. First attempt was to use hashcat on the hash of the wallet. I tried to retrieve the hash from the wallet with bitcoin2john.py (since Blackcoin is a fork of Bitcoin). But it is not working - just getting the error message "Wallet is not encrypted" (also tried this with a new wallet).

I could also write a script or program to call the Blackcoin QT wallet with different passwords, but it seems that this wallet does not have any cmd options to start it with a password.

Does anybody of you have a new idea on this?

I suggest you go to slack (blackcoin-team.slack.com) to seek help from the dev team.

On Slack I got the hint to open the wallet via RPC. This enables me to write a script with some thousands passwords. Still have to figute out how to make the call via RPC.
2nd idea (by yelllowsin) is btcrecover.

I will need some time for this, but I will keep you posted.
Thank you all for your input.
