What do you mean exactly by "worthy of investment"?

Does this mean how much profit can you turn and over how long?
Does this mean how long will it hold it's price?

If you are trying to profit then some coins will only take you a few weeks or less.

Well i just noticed a lot of alt coins with big changes. And i gotta say this time is a good time to invest in altcoins. As btc is increasing a lot of coin also are increasing in supply. Here are some of them.

Steem (STEEM)$1.18 (19.14%)
BitShares (BTS) $0.085362 (36.61%)

I think the way to know whether it is going to stay for a long time is from the enthusiastic investor and the project for the future, crypto coins future is based on market demands if there are a lot of people interested in that coin and the coin got a big potential for future than that coin will be stay for a long time, like ETH and litecoin, both of the coin got a strong foundation from investors

Time is not necessary to be the main point to determined a good coin
