After all BFL is shipping.

This is great news (especially for miners) but how this long awaited announcement will affect the price? Are we going up or down?

the recent downtrend was probably BFL labs dumping all the coins they mined with your asics.  Grin

But i think bfl is just keeping the hopes of customers high while they are mining until its not worth it, they have the money and the asics, why shouldn't they  Roll Eyes

Nice theory about BFL stealing all our money by mining on the sly, but my client tells me the difficulty level is 10 million, not 80 million. Grin

All the GPU miners will panic, dump their BTC, and start mining some shady pump'n'dump or scamcoin.

It will affect the market heavily i think, probably (unfortunately..) single digits for btc within a few months, but those people didn't really believe in btc in the first place, they are just in for the quick buck and will lose out in the end.

If you think this market is determined by attitude, you are in for a very sad and depressing realization.

Newsflash: most people don't believe in BTC. This is a casino. If the volume of investment currently in BTC was made by people who believed in BTC, Mt. Gox wouldn't still be running the show.

It's allowed to continue because the volatility posed by such a shoddy and centralized exchange is precisely rollercoaster needed by the gamblers to play their hand. Everyone knows Mt. Gox is dirty, but they don't care because they are hoping to ride their coattails to quick profit.

... but those people didn't really believe in btc in the first place, they are just in for the quick buck and will lose out in the end.
