i can't understand what the difficulty mean, when you mine, setting this value to high is better?

no, you don't set this.


it's how hard (difficult) it will be to get coins. it gets harder the more other people mine and easier when less other people are mining.

If you're the only person in the world mining, there's a 100% chance you're going to find the block.

The moment someone else comes online, you're now competing with them to find that block.  Depending on your hashing power, you could have an advantage over that person.

Now spread this over every miner ever, and that's why you can't solo mine.

I think you cant change it as it is determined by the network.
Bitcoin network tries to produce one block in every 10 minutes and the actual time it takes is checked every now and then. If it takes too long the difficulty decreases and so on.

Don't confuse the network difficulty with the share difficulty you can set on some pools  Wink

This is what I thought the OP meant. I also haven't seen this explained anywhere.
