I can tell you now I'm not the old dev. And he's not in our team either. Keep your illusions for yourself please. Cheesy

time4vps.eu, you should try it sometimes. Decent and cheap vps's for rent, including free dns service and bitcoin accepted! A pretty well known service provider in the altcoin scene.

I figure you we're hurt by the old project developer? Even more reason to welcome our initiative.

Who cares?  Coin wasn't going anywhere anyway.  At least someone is setting up a block explorer.

I have to admit, the block explorer does look EXACTLY like PrizZ first block explorer... EXACTLY.

We used the opensource blockexplorer build by Iquidus. You can find it here : https://github.com/iquidus/explorer
We only altered the bootstrap.min.css colour scheme to fit the blue MAR logo. We did not change any layout options.

And we are not related to the old team! We just recognized the huge potential this coin has to offer. Join us or part with your bags. We continue working on this project anwyay!

You can create a
Code:
marijuanacoin.conf
file for connections.
There are nodes available on the blockexplorer.

http://blockchain.marijuanacoin.pw

Our upcoming wallet update contains new hardcoded nodes to ease up connection problems.

I will try and add that when the explorer is done syncing.

I uploaded a landingpage for the new website. It's not much yet, but at least we have something in the air again! I will continue working on a new website behind the scenes to spice things up a bit. Eventually our platform is a webbased one guided by the blockchain.

http://marijuanacoin.pw

I'm not sure if we should open a new thread yet or use this one until my account is at least jr. member. It appears I can't post images because of the forum rules.  Undecided

I would also want to reach out to OSMIUMCOIN if he can provide us with some new material for the OP!

I'm also curious about your opinions on cutting POW early and maybe extend the blocktime to 3 minutes per block. This will slow down inflation and dumping a lot! Please give you pro's and con's regarding this matter. As far as the code specifications concerns, we want to discuss every change with the community. We will not swap this coin for a new blockchain! We prefer making changes to the current code to keep everyone happy.

If people still want to donate to this project like some said, we will set up a Marijuanacoin Foundation with donations addresses. We're also looking for moderators for our #Slack channel that's in the making.

Thank you for your opinion jimmyk. I can't really disagree with that argument. MAR has a low POW reward so there are not many dumps by miners either. When looking at the explorer, most blocks are generated through POS it appears.

The domain extension is already sorted. Eventually our seednodes go through the .pw domain, and the main website will have a proper extension.

poswallet.com is a good alternative on our own planned staking online wallet. It's never a bad thing to have alternatives for the community to choose from. I will send them an email for information.

Coinmarketcap and cryptopia will be informed about the takeover this week.

A new thread is opened somewhere tomorrow! I will make a post with a link to the new thread in here once opened.

You must enter the addnodes in the .conf file of the wallet.
This is usually found in the appdata / roaming / yourwallet folder.

What's crazy is that 45% of the total supply is burned coins.

MAR is a low supply coin at less than 1 million usable coins.

Supply of usable coins = 782667 MAR

Interesting, what was the purpose of the giant burn? Sorry, new to this party. Thanks so much for the continuity. Coin market cap still thinks the supply is 522k - from the old explorer i guess. So were they showing an adjusted supply somehow not accounting for the huge burn? They couldn't have been depicting the burned amount + real circulation, as 522k is less than 45% of the 1.44 mil showing on the new block explorer...

I'm still here and still lurking. Pledged some donations to a new dev, and will definitely follow through when its clear things are happening. I'm also a professional video designer and marketer. When Im feeling secure this thing is on the rails, I'll definitely help out as well.

That's why I'm here to make a difference in that.

The explorer has been updated to show the correct supply. The total supply, including the burned coins, is still reachable through the API.

The coins we're burned because the ICO did not sell out I believe.

Any help we can get is welcome!

Well I think that it's pretty clear now, the amount of coins burned, coinmarketcap guys can calculate easily the real circulating supply  Grin

Anyone with a strange warning on the wallet this morning?
Something like WARNING! Checkpoint detected contact developers, the amount displayed could be incorrect. Now it's staking, normally, but it's Out of Sync (last block 2h ago!??), and have only 1 connection active (last night was 9)

MAR DEV it's that part of the takeover process?

The current marketcap is around 8 BTC  Wink

About the warning, not really normal. We did not alter any code yet. When we do, updating is mandatory. We need to change the checkpoint server keys and the alert keys. The old developer still has control over the current keys.

Try adding some more nodes into a Marijuanacoin.conf file, and resync.
You can also do addnode=blockchain.marijuanacoin.pw
