How did Satoshi Advertise Bitcoin ??

I guess the most powerful contact is this forum itself. I think the satoshi himself posted his concept here and the users present at that time are the reason that Bitcoin is spread throughout the world today. As I believe that the most important advertisement and effective will be the forum posting because a lot of people discuss about a lot of topics here so they visit the forums regularly.

Nice question well i don't know what was the first time he announced his new technology to be honest, but after reading this thread i just knew that it was by email like people said above, it makes sense of course he didn't send email to the random guy it must be those who only interested on cryptography. Actually I was wondering about what he said to those early adopters about bitcoin i mean whether he told bitcoin is payment gateway or as an investment or both of them? I mean there must be something that attract those people.

Back in the days when there was Bitcoin and just Satoshi testing it, how did other early adopters of bitcoins came to know about it? Did he advertise about btc somewhere to attract people's attention to this new technology? How did bitcoin users initially rose from zero to millions ?

I don't think Satoshi Nakamoto apply advertising for bitcoins until many users who use bitcoins, actually bitcoins is just ideas about new currency in internet that decentralize, independent and send the value to other users without third party like Banks, corporations and government, and the ideas could be received by comunity until right now in my opinions.

Some groups and websites started accepting bitcoin at the start, like wikileaks which started accepting bitcoin as donations, there is also the infamous silk road deepweb site that sold all kinds of drugs and started accepting bitcoins. A lot of other criminals and criminal organizations started using it until today, a big part of bitcoin success is definitely thanks to criminals and even terrorists.

There was a time when Bitcoin and WikiLeaks helped each other to survive. WikiLeaks started accepting bitcoin in June 2011.
Satoshi personally ask Julian Assange to wait a bit to allow bitcoin more time to mature and establish itself as an alternative method of payment.
Bitcoin is the reason WikiLeaks is still alive today, as BTC allowed donations even despite global banking blockade.

I didn't know that Bitcoin and Wikileaks has a intertwined history back in the days. So both have really revolutionized the internet and gives more power to the common man. Thank you for the history. I really don't have a idea to be honest how Satoshi advertised if ever he did about bitcoin. I guess the path of bitcoin can't really be changed, because even he Satoshi didn't promote it, it gained wide acceptance from the masses until today.

I guess it is not an issue today but I guess bitcoin advertise was not really a thing in that day because I don't heard of bitcoin in the pass years and I just discover it in 2016 so I don't think they are advertising bitcoin in the pass years but still a good thing for them and I guess bitcoin is really successful today.

From what I saw from his older posts, he didn't do any advertising beyond posting on forums. I know he had user names on other forums too besides here. I think generally interested people kept an eye on it and just kept talking about it.

The whole silkroad and drugs thing obviously had something to do with it, but I would have no idea how much.

Obviously initially he started to advertise on online, Just think, how do we know about bitcoin?
Because of advertisement on internet. I remember i was searching something than suddenly i saw a add of bitcoin inside, then i want to know What is this? and start to search about it,
However, i am sure Satoshi use the online advertisement for online currency of bitcoin.

Looking back in time,Satoshi didnt use the avertisments for bitcoin I think he was helped by his friends to spread it orally.He was just using those bitcoin as a payment.No ads were shown about bitcoin in television.It was spread through social media and different sites.

Looking back, there really was not an advertisement on tv about bitcoin by the year 2009-2010 but there are some advertisements via news about bitcoin way back 2012-2013 so I guess satoshi really never advertised it, but the early adopters are the one who advertised bitcoin but not in it's early years. Google, social media sites, and computer related forum other than this had a huge significance on attracting people to use bitcoin which used claims of other people who have used bitcoin to advertise it.

Aside from the ideas suggested above, I read somewhere that Satoshi Nakamoto also introduce Bitcoin and its technicalities to a certain mailing list though I am sure if he own that list or somebody else's. I am also sure that he has a closed group at that time and Bitcoin was also explained to them before it caught fire in the outside world. Of course, all of these things can be speculations.

Whoever is on that list and decided to bite and take the risk of using and investing Bitcoin is super rich right now. Imagine one of the lucky persons who was emailed by Satoshi who introduce to you first about Bitcoin, I know it will be sketchy at first like something of a spam contains but if someone believe in it they actually experienced the first ICO of any cryptocurrency. And I couldn't imagine how a simple mailing list started to grow in what it is now. Truly a success story.

He didn't - no ICO or anything like that and imo thats what makes bitcoin special. The founder didn't create it for money, but rather he legitimately created it because he had a purpose in life. Sure he mined a lot of coins afterwards but there is nothing like a premine/ico that goes on.

Later though there were a few people that started spreading the bitcoin "gospel". Like Roger Ver.

These days alts are too saturated, everyone is in it for the money.

This is something that actually I have been thinking about on how the whole situation started up to the point we have it today and even still growing to a level in which we all cannot phantom but my conclusion has come to the fact that when you have a good idea, people will buy into it without limitation and after it has been tested to be full proof and same thing goes with other successful project that have happened in the cryptospace from the idea of one person to the creation of a thread down to the several pages of the thread among other improvements.

I trade Bitcoin for like 2 years now and didnt know who Satoshi Nakamoto is yet. Pretty sad. And I wondered why everyone is pricing coins with XXXk Satoshis
