I'm having an issue that I'm wondering if anyone has seen before. I ordered 2 R4s in January and set them up on my local network monitor which I guess gave me a false sense of security because they've both been live on the network but apparently one stopped working some time ago. When I logged into it the GH/S(RT) said 0.00000 and one of the boards has no temp info. I tried a software restart a few times to no avail and after cycling power I now get one board running and ~4.7TH/s so half output. Has anyone seen this before and found a fix? Trying to upload the .tar.gz for R4 firmware from the antminer site fails. I have 3 days left until I'm out of the 90 day warranty window expires but shipping this thing to china seems like a bit much.

You most likely have a faulty hash board. --> warranty repair.

If you ordered them in January you have a 180 day warranty period, not 90.

That's great news, now I don't have to scramble to get this all set up to return in the next 2 days.

Yes, but it sucks. You have to send the ENTIRE unit back to China. I would recommend sending to Denver (It's not free but shipping was going to cost me almost 300$$!)
My unit was back in 13 days.

We now offer comp mining while unit is in paid repair. If it is not fixable, we will stop the comp mining upon discovery of none fixable condition and let you know! Also, soon BitmainWarranty be reborn as Myrig.com Yes, but it sucks. You have to send the ENTIRE unit back to China. @philipma1957 You can send in just the bad hash PCB if other is working, or you can send the whole unit, whichever you prefer. Comp Mining is an OPT-IN service for anyone requesting the repair service. After you obtain the repair ticket number from support@bitmainwarranty.com, Notify, support what you are sending in. (Full unit or just bad hash PCBs - Screenshot of Miner Status page before remove the bad hash PCB be highly recommended as an attachment) Go to https://host.myrig.com and register an account, activate 2FA, and please email support via the ticket your username from host.myrig.com and Active Carrier Tracking Number that shows Package acceptance. (Weight as well) Once you receive, acknowledgment from support ticket, please log back in and save your BTC mining revenue receiving address. Comp mining will takes place while the unit is in transit to Denver, and back to you. BitmainWarranty brand is transitioning into MyRig We now offer comp mining while unit is in paid repair. (Weight as well) I already have an account with BitmainWarranty, does that registration automatically switch over to MyRig or do I have to re-register? Also have a s9 board shipping out to you tomorrow.

@NotFuzzyWarm the comp hashing needs, that system be a different account and requires 2FA eventually, consolidate them but sorry for the mess in transition at least how it will work, if you are shipping hash PCB for repair, please give us your feedback how the whole process can be improved to work with all level of miners. (commercial, hobby, home miners, and etc...) the piece of paper you insert in the box, please MARK, ( BETA TESTER) in BOLD and techs will give you the discount on repair for you to give us feedback good or bad or nasty or troll... whatever it is. No matter what I will do that when I send in the dead R4 board. One thing I can ask for improving service: Tell us what was wrong/fixed! In the past the excuse for not doing it has always been that the tech report system is not setup to do that. Huh? Whenever I do a repair be it in the field or in-house I create a detailed list of what was done. It is done both for the customer records and more importantly for my companies records so we can track failures/causes.. The tech report does not have to be detailed but at least list what was found and done to correct eg, 'bad PIC - reprogrammed' or 'no Vcore - replaced MOSFET', or whatever.

Thank you for the suggestions. We will try our best to reach that point in service, hopefully one of these days, we will meet this request! Most ask for lowest repair cost as possible as fast as possible. Speed part, to reduce the frustration, we are implementing the comp mining option as OPT-IN for the customers. @NotFuzzyWarm the comp hashing needs, that system be a different account and requires 2FA eventually, consolidate them but sorry for the mess in transition at least how it will work, if you are shipping hash PCB for repair, please give us your feedback how the whole process can be improved to work with all level of miners. Check kernel log. I see this error in my R4 kernel log;
total valid nonce number:57456 total send work number:57456 require valid nonce number:57456 repeated_nonce_num:0 err_nonce_num:65143 last_nonce_num:42796 chain[6]: some chip cores are not opened FAILED! Test Patten on chain[6]: FAILED! chain[7]: All chip cores are opened OK! Test Patten on chain[7]: OK! do heat board 8xPatten for 2 times
The status shows one board or sometimes it shows 2 boards but avg hash rate is half.

Mine looks very similar, even though I do not know what some of it means.
I would show a screenshot, but i do not know how to do that on this forum.
Mi miner status essentially shows chain 7 not working, only 550 gh/s vs norm of about 4,350 and no chip temps for this chain/board.

If you read through the log, you may get some sense. There are 2 chains and each for one hash board. If one chain fails, the hash board won't work. But I am not sure the exact reason. It might be just one simple fix, not replacing the board. During reboot, all chips will be pinged to test. In my case, only one hash board is passed test. Low temperature means no hashing.
