I think by feeeze you meant seise/take/claim their BTC.
Very easy to do, when you catch criminal you check all his data while finding proofs on crimes and take BTC found alongside.

why are you going from board to board asking a similar question?
FEDs, government, and whatever have been catching criminals online or offline for as long as society existed. if you want to know how of it then go ask the cops
and as far as bitcoin is involved they have been catching then and auctioning their coins for as long as bitcoin had a value and been getting used as a currency and it has never had any effect on anything!

Yes. The government/feds can catch criminals, drug addicts, drug pushers, drug lords online even on the dark web for buying and or selling drugs. I think they can only freeze your bitcoin account if you're using an account from coinbase or a similar service.

How? Probably intercepted shipments. They probably have trained dogs to spot drug contained packages. Then the feds would look for similar packages and find where they're coming from. By then, they would just wait for the seller to send another package. then boom. got'em.

Bitcoin cannot be frozen the way fiat can, a bank can steal your funds at anytime if they choose to or are ordered to, what it happened was that the security agencies were able to get the keys to those bitcoin and now it belongs to them.
