Hey guys, I have unusual problem with my new out of the box Radeon RX vega 64.

My components are:
  • 4gb ram
  • 500gb HDD
  • LC power 1650 mining
  • AMD athlon II x2 260
  • MSI 970A-G46 Motherboard
  • 2x normaly working Asus RX 480

I am using Nicehash miner Legacy. Tried with 1.8.2xx and 1.8.3.
More or less trying to mine CryptoNight since its most profatible. Is it possible that it would work on DaggerHasihimoto?

My problem is that when I start mining rig crashes, sometimes instantly, sometimes after 5-15 minutes maybe.

I have set vent speed to almost 100% in WattMan since afterburner doesn't allow to change vent speed.
I have lowered power usage by -10 and later -15%.
I have tried setting max temp to 80°C(it worked for few minutes yet crashed anyway.) I get popup that GPU has exceed its temperature limit every few seconds. And the temperature really jumps up and down from 77°C to lets say 83°C if I have set max temp to 80°C. It can go up to 88°C if its set on 85°C.
I have tried getting 2 different power cable from the PSU in to 1 GPU only, so I eliminated problem with too less power going through one cable.
I don't know what else to do.
I have tried using another motherboard (Asrock h110).

I used latest AMD drivers 17.11.4 and 17.8.2 and even blockchain drivers, everything stays the same

I have open rig and vents blowing in below the air conditioner.

Anyone with any idea what should I try next?

I would appreciate any kind of suggestion, tip, idea that comes through your mind.

Did you try it on another miner e.g Claymore or XMR-STAK? Try to uninstall the driver using DDU in safe mode, and then re-install the driver, preferably the blockchain driver.

After restart open device manager and disable then re-enable it again to activate HBCC.

Try other miners first and don't overclock it yet. See what happen.
