The private keys are what your wallet is supposed to contain. Addresses can be derived from the private keys. If you know what wallet software the file belongs to, you can just import it into that software and access the coins associated with your private keys.

You can go to https://www.bitaddress.org

once there skip through there generator and click on Wallet Details.

Paste your private key in there and it will return you a bunch of ...details. One of the details will be your public address.

You can take that address and go to https://blockchain.info and see if there are any funds in there.

I just sent you a pm regarding helping you.

If you're having your keys and your walelt password you can recover it in seconds.

If you need any special help, let me know.

As the title says, I have the key file, but apparently don't have the wallet or the address. Is there a way to obtain this from the file? I was new and was just horsing around back when I made this backup. I doubt there is anything at all on it, but would like to be sure. I appreciate the help.

Whatever you do, do not send the private keys (or wallet.dat) to anyone.  If anyone PMs you asking for them or something similar, beware.
