All,

This is a TL;DR post.  You have been warned, lol.  Summary is Poloniex claims they sent the transfer out but I didn't receive it, it has been 10 days.  Poloniex support basically told me they sent it and it's my issue but then has backpedaled and has "escalated" it.

My question is this:  Is it possible that Poloniex truly sent it out and that the blockchain would not show the transaction and the TXID be invalid?  My thought is that it never left Poloniex due to a coding/interface error.  I would enjoy any theories.  I would hate to think that Poloniex is intentionally ripping me off, 263.5 coins is a joke compared to the volume they process.  Thank you in advance.

Here comes the long post:

On 6/9/2017 I transferred 263.53893412 PASC out of my Poloniex Wallet to account 305864-18.
This appears in my withdrawal history at Poloniex:

Complete    PASC    263.53893412
2017-06-09 05:38:24 Address: 305864-18 Txid: 00000000765201005c0300003432433934394138333533463833424331443343

However, the coins did not arrive in my account.  I opened a ticket at Poloniex.

Four days ago, on 6/15/2017, I got this response from "Brent":

Hi John Ricketts,

We have reviewed the logs and according to our system this withdrawal definitely went out and there is no evidence that it failed to broadcast from our side. Have you checked the wallet or exchange that this withdrawal was sent to in order to confirm whether or not it has been received on the other end?

Best regards,

Brent

I responded with:

Brent,

Yes, I checked the wallet that this was sent to confirm that it has not been received and it has not.  I have also checked the blockchain and there was no record of it there, either.

I am surprised that in the course of your investigation you did not check the PASC blockchain. Please view the following links:

http://explorer.pascalcoin.org/accountoperation.php?account=305864
and
http://explorer.pascalcoin.org/index.php?q=Txid%3A+00000000765201005c0300003432433934394138333533463833424331443343

The first link shows there are only a few operations for 305864-18 and none of them are a transmission from Poloniex for 263.53893412 PASC.

The second link shows that the TXID that was provided to me from Poloniex does not exist in the blockchain either.

The blockchain is the ultimate proof, unless you are saying that there is a flaw in the PASC network.

Please credit my wallet at Poloniex with 263.53893412 PASC or send it to wallet 305864-18.

Thank you,
John L. Ricketts

Hi John Ricketts,

The first thing we did is check the blockchain, and you are correct, it is not showing there. If I recall correctly one of the 'features' of PASC is that it prunes the blockchain periodically by removing older transactions from the blockchain. However, on our end, the tx broadcast and the funds were removed from the exchange wallet. Was the withdrawal sent to a personal wallet or an exchange wallet?

Best regards,

Brent

Brent, Thank you for your swift reply.
This is a personal wallet. In regard to the PASC network trimming transactions from the blockchain, that is not how I understand it to be.
If that were true, you wouldn't see any transactions on 6/9/17 in the blockchain and there are many. On what PASC block was the transaction sent? We could look at the block and see the 263 some of PASC coins included in that block. I do appreciate your continued interest and investigation into this matter. I realize that 263 coins is nothing compared to the overall volume that Poloniex processes but to me it is a lot. John

Hi John Ricketts,

You are welcome. It appears this issue will require deeper investigation. I will escalate your ticket to an agent who will be able to further assist you with this. Thank you very much for your patience in the mean time.

Best regards,

What do you folks think?  Any advice would be appreciated.  263.5 coins to me is a lot - at least to me.

Thanks,
John
