I'm looking to start mining, what is the best way to go about it?

Is it worthwhile to mine on GPU?

ASIC seem to be the way to go be they are not really available are they?

If your looking to mine bitcoins then your best bet is an ASIC if you can, otherwise be prepared to spend a bit money on a decent GPU setup.

There are a number of sites comparing profitability, if your looking to get started in cyptos then your better off looking at a scrypt based alt coin such as Litecoin or one of the newer coins that are flooding the market and selling them for bitcoins.

ASICS are very expensive...
I suggest investment in Pyramining (their ASICS will be introduced soon)

There are a couple of Avalon ASIC group buys on this forum. (That is what I am doing). It comes with just the chip though so you either need electrical skills, or find someone to do it for you.

Are any of the ASIC miners readily availible?

I have found a few people online but most of them seem to be either repackaging BFL or Avalon. In either case it doesn't seem like I will receive delivery anytime soon.

How does one find a legit ASIC?
