Hi guys, I'm brand new to mining and eagerly waiting on my 7950 to arrive so I can start. I'm going to be using an old Acer Desktop with an AMD processor, 4GB Ram, and a 650w PSU and following the linux litecoin mining rig build from Cryptobadgers site.

Here's my question:

When I plug my details into Burnsides Litecoin mining calculator, it says I can expect to farm 1 LTC per day (assuming I can achieve a 600 khs).. On the same calculator it appears that if I were to mine BTC I would average about .8102 BTC per month...

*So, if 0.1 BTC's are selling all day on Ebay for anywhere between $15-$25, and LTC are selling for around $3.00 - $3.50 each, it seems I'd make much more $$ taking the 30 LTC's and converting them to .8 BTC (using BTC-E) then selling those on Ebay = .1 BTC (let's average it a $20) x 8 = $160 instead of selling 30 LTC's individually for around $105..

Am I understanding this correctly, or is my math wrong somehwere?

Thanks!!

Unless you avoid Paypal for selling on eBay, selling them can result in a Paypal dispute and you losing it, as you will have no real way to prove you sent the BTC (don't expect them to understand the blockchain). And if you're from US, there's simply no way not to accept Paypal. We Europeans at least have that choice.

But either way, if I understood you right, you are basically saying you will make roughly the same amount mining LTC and BTC, so any of them should work for you and you could do some tests to see if the eBay BTC selling option works for you.

Thanks Crypto, I didn't even consider the whole Paypal dispute thing. I wonder if that's a huge problem, or if I'd be safe. I guess I'll just test and learn! Smiley
