Here's the thing that I've said about companies, they're not going to change unless people just aren't going to be buying their services.
Man, that's so difficult because you're right. I want their product really bad. I've used it 14 years and it's a part of my portfolio.
They're only going to change if they stand to lose money by not changing ...
Their response was "it's only $500". So, maybe there is a $50,000 company who could offer a BTC payment to Adobe?
or they stand to get a ton of money with changing.
Lower fees and no charge backs increase their profits. They could also reduce their data insurance premiums ... if exclusively used "internet money."
Think about it, you're probably going to be using Adobes services with or without the Bitcoin payments, all you're going to do is probably just go ahead and use a credit card, debit card, or any other traditional source of money.
I'd load up my BitPay card and pay that way because I'm not about to exploit a hacked version. I believe in the company and want to pay. I just don't think they should have my private key.
They're not going to change even with a petition, only if we all stand together and don't buy Adobe protects, and even at that they may not even notice us.
I agree on the petitions. I set up an order, get to the "checkout" page and call confused asking why an "Internet company does not accept Internet money." I ask them if they want my money because I want to give it to them, I just don't want to give them my credit card info because it gets stolen. I try to be nice and direct them to BitPay or exploring an integrated API.
I appreciate the comments. I really think we, as a community, should focus on the tech/internet companies to accept BTC.
Some that come to mind include:
Does anybody else have ideas of companies that should accept BTC? Any strategic thoughts on the subject?
