Grear, but where can I find the  check box option to hide garbage posts? Those are what is really bothering me. Not so much looking st the sigs and avatars.

Have  you tried DannyHamilton's ignore list?  It probably needs an update (last jan 2016) but it's a good start: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=973843.0

Try using that ignore list and then browsing the fourm, you probably won't see 90% of the posts here because that list just contains users that have signature campaigns

So you are telling me that you should ignore staff posts or former staff posts just because they use a signature?
That list is ridiculously impractical,  though well-intentioned.   But it is exhausting and frustrating adding garbage posters manually, especially on a smartphone--I got blisters on my thumb from doing just that.   And they just keep coming.  Maybe if you made a list of members that you don't want on ignore, you could unignore them after using DH's list.  Otherwise you'd see so few posts, it wouldn't even be worth it to be a member here.   Quickseller should always be on ignore.

Yep.

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

Hey, good job copying the list of people who were excluded from DH's main ignore list. Roll Eyes

Read next time, buddy. Prefacing the code, DH stated very clearly:

Quote
The following users either have sig ads, or have signatures that might be mistaken for ads. As such, they may have been previously on my ignore list. I've come across their content when quoted by others and have found that they create reasonably intelligent posts. I generally double check against this list before ignoring someone.  If they are on this list, then I only ignore them if their recent posts appear to be unhelpful nonsense (In which case they would then be removed from this list). You can decide for yourself if you want to ignore them or see their posts, but you won't find them in my current ignore list

Why ban legendaries when they are the ones that passed most of time around here?
Yes, signature campaigns leave us with a lot of spam posting, that sometimes starts irritating us in the quest of finding some answers in the bitcoin world, but hey, I think mods, or the campaign owners should check the posts, and check their value and with that spam post may reduce !
If you post around everyday and you can have some benefit out of it, I don't really think there is something wrong with this !

If you are still scrabbling around for pennies after ~2 years, shitposting, misinforming, counting posts like a noob

you have done nothing of significance for bitcoin

I've got plenty of bitcoin's thanks. I'm in a signature campaign for pocket money but I also enjoy posting here, have made a good few associates on here & it's the best source of info, news by far.

So suck a fat one bro Wink

I stopped signature campaign when I ended my difficulty contest back in summer of 2016..  I no longer do  signatures for pay.

However I do have signatures.

@ hilariousandco for ending  the altcoin section    come on  that is being an exclusionist  in the world  of cryptocoins.

Personally I don't think I should be on this list any longer. My post quality is a lot better and Ihave decent discussions with people. Iwas put on this list years ago, at the time I might have deserved it, but the criteria to be put on this list for onnly having a signature campaign is kind of dumb, but if someone wants to do that they are certainly free to of course.

I forgot Iwas on this list hehe.

Normally I'd say a post like this is a shitpost, but here I don't happen to think so.  In fact your post is just a very succinct summary of my own thoughts.   And it's not pennies even now--I earn close to $50/week from the bitdouble campaign,  and there are campaigns that pay much more than that.  Think about what that would turn into if bitcoin actually did hit $100,000.  Furthermore, legendaries--assuming their accounts weren't bought--are precisely the ones who haven't been banned and are less likely to shitpost.  It's mainly the noobs who just come here to post garbage and earn pennies.
