Sorry if this has been posted before but I am a Bitcoin supporter but there obviously is some inconveniences vs using the regular dollar. Mainly the fee. Nobody would want to use a currency where they pay fees. Another is how can restaurants like subway and others legally accept Bitcoin if the government has no control over it?

Is it possible for these inconvinences to be resolved or can it not be done technically? The reason I ask this is because if not, it's possible another coin will come along that is much more convenient and will eventually surpass Bitcoin.

People have said long transaction times but there are already Bitcoin credit/debit cards so I don't see that as a problem

It can be fixed. And it will be fixed very soon. The August 1 schedule that is being disseminated right now is primarily designed to smoothen things out and improve the overall operation of bitcoin. The bitcoin market will be very progressive just after this segwit. I think the concern regarding fees will also be ironed.

Yes bitcoin's problems can be fixed. But it takes time. It will probably take 1 year or so for the government to accept bitcoin in your country or for them to take control over it. If they can see the positives of having bitcoin with us. Because it is really beneficial for us to have bitcoin right?

bitcoin fees have been very small for the past 8+ years that bitcoin has existed. they are the same and still very small right now too.
they only increased for a couple of months recently because of spam attack on the network and "political" reasons but they have stopped for the now.

and yes, it is possible for another cryptocurrency to come along and surpass bitcoin. but it has not yet happened and it won't possible happen in the near future either. because simply these altcoins are not created to compete with bitcoin, they are not even created to do the same thing as bitcoin. the altcoins have been created to get pumped and dumped to make money from the gullible people who fall for the lie of "replacing bitcoin"

I also thought that thing, I know that bitcoin problems will soon be fixed. August 1 is what we can call a maintenance, they are just gonna fixed those errors that are happening in the business. No problems cannot be solved, there will always be a solution to something.

i am sure soon the problem will fix, we don't need to waiting too long to gets confirmed because this is the biggest problem we have. soon many restaurants will accept bitcoin and goverment is not interfere because people using bitcoin because of their own will. but i am sure that many government will accepting bitcoin so their citizen is not afraid and worried to use bitcoin by free.

i think you need to check the things you say first then make a new throwaway account and say them here. if you use bitcoin these days you can see clearly that these "inconvinences" about fees that you are complaining about does not exist.
for past few weeks even the mempool have been empty!!!
this means if you send a transaction with 1 cent (0.01$) it will be confirmed in the next block...

Well I guess in the not so far away future, most of bitcoins problems will be fixed and this is mainly due to one very important date, August the first. On August the first segwit will be activated which means that transaction times will be faster and transaction fees should be less also. And after this bitcoin will actually have a pretty good chance of becoming mainstream. The recent news related to India, and about how India will legalise bitcoin will bring a lot of new miners to the bitcoin world, especially since electricity in India is pretty much free.

As long as you can encash your bitcoin into your currency I don't see any problem with it. The common community said that the common problem of bitcoin was the delay confirmation of bitcoin in the blockchain. But its a common thing happened actually Wink

Of course, Bitcoin and the underlying technology behind which is the blockchain technology is not meant to be expensive and not slow...that is we have to upgrade Bitcoin as it is not already conducive for great growth ahead. Unfortunately, there are many suggestions on how to solve the problem and these choices are dividing the community. We are hoping that in August 1, there would be a clear consensus that can be adopted by all.
