I admire proof of stake but am baffled as to how the very first block is being created because to the best of my knowledge, in other to  mine blocs in proof of stake system, one needs to have some coins to stake. Now how is it possible to mine the very first block when there is yet no coins in the system.

for proof of work i can understand one only needs some amount of computational power to start mining thus fining the fist block is almost as equal to as finding the last block.
need some explanations plz..

PoS starts with PoW - even if it's just for one block.

Basically, PoS can't act as an initial distribution method so it has to be combined with either a PoW period or various types of premines suc as ICOs, airdrops, bounties, giveaways, etc.

Not your keys, not your coins!
