https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/hacker-uses-parity-wallet-vulnerability-to-steal-30-million-worth-of-ethereum/

Question is will Vitalik decide to roll back the chain once gain?

Price speculation? I expect this incident to further solidify the bear trend for ETH sending it to sub $50usd.

ICO projects are gonna continue to panic sell as the life of their projects hang in the balance.

It just never seems to end with ETH..

Vitalik tweeted there will be no rollback. As the hacker has only 3% of all ETH. A lot to be sure, but not enough to warrant another split.

ICO´s dumping, ETH crashing. Below 50$ is a big big blow. To you really see ETH below 50$? that price level might invite a lot of people to re-invest in ETH, maybe with more consistency that ICO money.

It's also not really his fault either.. It's kind of up to the application developer to secure his users funds. Bad coding on his part. Has nothing to do with the Ethereum code from what I can tell. If you want to blame anyone, blame the wallet developer or yourself for putting your coins on there and just hoping.

True, but doesn't mean that the hacker can't dump the ETH all of the sudden

I think the parity developer is not a part of the ethereum foundation. I like to use mist wallet. That will get an update in some period from the ethereum itself. rather than using the 3d service such as parity.
Fuck for the parity developers. Mist wallet still being the best of ethereum wallet as far as I know. The ethereum developers still actively updating the wallet. Use mist and never use the parity wallet

This kind of event is not what ETH needs right now. Investors are really going to start shopping around for similar platform - WAVES, SHIFT, UBIQ, STRATIS. Blood on the streets of ETH again

No roll back will be happen since the ethereum network is not been hack and im sure about that it cannot affect the ethereum price since the issue is all about the parity wallet. So chill out guys there's no issue that we need to worried off and lame people's are the one who's gonna bait this wrong issue. But this thing will be silent later on these days so chill out guys since everything is under control by ethereum management.

Even if that's the case, more drama and fud will spread because fudders will take this opportunity to try to push ETH prices to lowest possible one. Like OP, I expect that the bearish movement will continue, tanking down probably to below 100$ but there's a possibility that it might not reach sub 50$ as OP said. That being said, it might still recover so I take this as a good opportunity to buy a little of ETH again.

But someone's going to dump 30million worth of ETH on the exchange. May affect price if dumped all at once

They are going to have trouble offloading that on an exchange as they would need to pass KYC requirements first. No exchange will give out funds to a thief so they will have to siphon it off bit by bit and run it through mixers.

This is BIGGER than the DAO. The dao hack was like $50 million worth of ETH. This one is near $100 million worth of ETH!! and growing, because more parity wallets keep getting hacked.

The hackers said they will return their funds to their owners but im yet to see that.

In other case, ETH got exposed as a disaster if you have any hopes of holding your money safely. Time to wake up from the delusion of thinking ETH will ever surpass BTC as the store of value of crypto.

Those ethereum haters are trying to fooled the person by spread the fake news about ethereum to make another people panic. the fund will be sent back to the owner of the multisig wallet after the vulnerability gets patched. Gavin wood already did an implementation to fix it.

You are a FUD master ! Ethereum has not at all being hacked, but rather just a very specific type of wallet on a very specific wallet software, and just because the owners of this wallet did not securise it correctly. It totally does not affect us.
