Creating a S9LN

I had a S9 hashing board die on me. I checked with bitmain warranty , (it is out of warranty), and they said a new hashing board would cost me $600.00 not counting shipping. Since a brand new S9 costs a little under 1100 I politely declined.

Then I thought.

I have 3 S7LNs I am not running due to it being the middle of summer and not wanting to pay for their not very efficient mining and air conditioning at the same time.

So, how about removing the S7 hashing boards and the S7 controller from the S7LN and replacing them with the two remaining good S9 hashing boards and the S9 controller. That would free up a APW3 and use a bit less wattage until I can get a new S9 from bitmain.

I also would not have to finangle a 220 volt line as the S7LN built in power supply uses 110 volts.

Has anyone done this already?

I believe S9 hash boards are longer. S7LN also has a taller heatsink to fill the internal space and provide better cooling with a slower quieter fan.

Couldn't you just run the S9 with only two boards plugged in, powered by the S7LN PSU?

 I have a 1 board s-9  does 4200 gh uses 430 watts

old firmware set to  freq 525
