JKC is following the usual path when it comes to altcoins, First the hype, then the dump. The Cryptsy dump was enough for me to personally step off the JKC market for life.

Mature altcoins are never dead.

Indeed, we have so many new coins added with premined, or hidden blocks, for pump and dump... The Bittrex thread gives some insights about what happened...

Junkcoin have none of  these issues, and is mature... The price is low today, but who knows the future?

What exactly are mature alt coins? I only think 2 alt coins where successful for a long time and that was namecoin and litecoin. no other as lasting as long as them.

IXcoin is nearly 4 years old. Was launched right after NameCoin and unlike NameCoin, iXcoin has never died or forked and is just as secure as NameCoin.

Yet nobody knows about it.  Very odd.

I hope that fair coins that are still out there and for a long time now; that are still operating, and still on the exchanges, will have a future.

The short term strategy that we see every week. A new coin is launched huge farms are already setup (they must already have the source code, and the pools code is ready), A pump and dump, and the the coin is dead, and the process is known as a a new scam coin. This strategy must have an end, they can't scam the same people every week; and now mining these coins don't worth the electricity...

I remember the price was low before last Christmas, then it skyrocketed after the bitcoin rally. Perhaps it will skyrocket again after the next bitcoin rally.

Why don't you guys cut the massive dilution of 107 million coins down to maybe 21 million and lower the subsidy by half in order to allow mining for enough years in order to secure the network via PoW.

There's no need for over 100 million coins, that's much too dilutive and it scares off a lot of new investors who do look at the max cap (max dilution at maturity).  Maybe also throw in 1% PoS and you've got a nice, 1+ year old, proven and tested coin totally revamped and revived.

Lots of people will start looking for the older coins given most new coins are nothing but scams.  Older coins have better, larger communities and they're also much better distributed.

Just my 2 cents, JUNK was a catchy coin, it would be a shame to see it die while all these new ShitCoins scam people out of their money.  Follow DarkCoin's example, they cut their max cap from 88 million to 22 million and shot up to $14 per coin shortly after.

Cutting the max cap and the subsidy would be exactly like a corporation doing a huge stock BuyBack only JUNK doesn't have to spend any money doing it.  It's a brilliant and quick way to add instant value to any coin.

I hope the dev on this coin does something to increase the value for all longtime loyal shareholders.

good advice, Junk missed the boat at being the next LTC.

There is still capital, and still potential in this Junk Smiley

It's no shame to make algo adjustments and hardfork in order to survive.  Put it to the shareholders and see what they say.

ps if Dev or community leaders read this I can get you an actual Junk [PM]

The last Junkcoin dev I could find was called dreamwatcher, but I cannot find any up to date threads and the Junkcoin website is down now. Does anyone know if there is a current Junkcoin thread?

There is a thread but nobody ever posts to it.

I talked to the dev about 6 months ago and he said if the community ever came back that he would also come back.

He said last time he put work in the coin and the community left him hanging so this time he's not gonna do that.

Hello,

Would someone be kind enough to put their Junkcoin node online for a little while so that I may join the network?

Best Regards,

Anybody have a historical copy of the blockchain or able to resurrect their node for a short while?
