Cheers all,

me and a few friends want to create a bitcoin related info site. We don't have any financial goals attached to this and it's really more of a hobby and out of enthusiasm for the topic.

But that's not why i am posting here  Wink

While content creation is taking forever, I have spent the past week setting up a free bitcoin lottery on the side to drive some traffic.

While there are many visitors already taking part in the lottery, dedicated feedback is very limited!

>>> http://bitcoin.lift-institute.com/lottery/

The 3rd raffle is about to end in less than a day...

...just head over there, grab some tickets for Round 3 and do me a favor, come back here, and let me know what you think!

- Is the Lottery easy to understand?
- Does it look like a scam to you? Or is it trustworthy?
- What kind of statistics would you want to see? Or is it too many already?
- How high should a good prize be?
- Did you experience any bugs?
- What would you change, anything, if you could?

Really any feedback that comes to your mind is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

LIFT loves you!

Hi daybyter, thanks for your reply!

Yes! I see your point here, while it might not be the LOTTERY, we will need a clear BITCOIN in the header.

The site's current theme is actually from an old site and we haven't had the time to finish a new one yet. (Is to say: I'm waiting for the creatives Wink)

In the meantime the lottery is a fun project, so i am out for feedback on the functionality primarily!

Are you interested in skill games, too?

I played with some javascript code for a coin game...

sounds interesting? is it online anywhere?

i was also considering some more "fun" games but a lottery seemed like a good quickstarter

though, i have no experience in game design...

It's a good start, obviously it would be better if there was higher payouts, but of course it is free after all.

Thanks Welsh! I have pumped the prize of the next round a tiny bit...

but really, i cant throw serious amounts around for free Wink, and the ads, well it's not really breaking even with the prizes either Tongue

We have had a bot attack over night!

As a result someone managed to enter the raffle with over 1000 BTC addresses and random IPs.

To keep the raffle fair we have taken some quick measures to lock the bots out, but we also had to bulk-delete all tickets submitted between 04:40 and 10:34 (UTC) today.

Sorry for the inconvenience. If we have deleted some of your honestly claimed tickets, please leave a comment and we will do what’s possible to restore them!

...

Seems like we will need to put a captcha up after all... i hate captchas!

Great site! I will give you free ad space for life if you put my ad on your site.

Thanks!

Indeed the cheapest ad space on earth Tongue

how many daily visits do you have? we don't use any ads on other sites at all currently. the site is to incomplete to do that just yet Wink

all i did so far was a bit of bitvisitor campaigning.

So, it looks as if there's not much feedback to get here after all.

Anyways, I suspect we have some users who are playing the lottery with browser-scripting... claiming a ticket every 30 minutes and 15 seconds, for 20hrs a day.... that looks superhuman.

Bottom Line, even though we hate it... there's no way to keep running fair-for-all with a bigger audience and NOT using a captcha...

we will put a captcha up soon, but we are undecided yet as to which captcha solution it will be... any recommendations?
