What do you think about IOTA?

Is IOTA a new Ether or is it just some type of scam? What's the future of iota and is ethereum finally obsolete? Your opinions about it's technology and possibilities

IOTA is not a new Ether, but it doesn't mean it is a scam. Ethereum is a smart contract platform on blockchain. IOTA doesn't use the blockchain technology, instead it uses a technology called DAG (the same behind Byteball/Blackbytes).

Ethereum is a platform for decentralized applications (dApps), in which you can easily create custom tokens, and there are a lot of projects already being developed on top of it.

IOTA has a different purpose.. It is a digital currency for machines/devices in the Internet of Things. They don't have transaction fees and you can make transactions offline in a local branch of The Tangle and later sync with the main network.

I know more about Ethereum than I do about IOTA, I haven't studied it a lot yet, so I can't tell you if you could have applications built on it or other Ethereum-like features. But I think IOTA is very interesting.

For me IOTA is just under a big hype plan. In general when supporters are praising it like the new Bitcoin, it is very fishy. I saw this on several altcoins : Bitcoin Cash, Footy Cash, Monero, IOTA...

Maybe iota will be like supernet or ethereum: to create lots of different assets and make money out of investors by selling them icos

I think the concept is pretty good, but it will need some time for people to feel familiarized with the Internet of Things.

I think no one should invest in IOTA now. I think the market cap decrease continuously till the $200-300 M For me this project will fail hard.

IOTA is has big capitalization numbers https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/iota/ its price is up trend now is good time to trade into iota
but iota is just good for trading short taking target profit due to however iota is still new coin, it is too dangerous for invest long time due to not many projects on iota or the business with iota.
