Obviously some inside joke or pun?

It seems to be a response to people asking for money. Is that just a way of saying "look out - SCAM"?

Anyone can clarify the origin and meaning of the meme?

TomatoCage is a user on here who, among many things, points out scammers, and runs a thread to warn users about potential scammers.

So whenever there's an obvious scammer, people post images of a tomato cage in reference to the user Grin

LOL. I thought it was some weird obscure reference to "the attack of the killer tomatos", (movie theme is that tomatos are evil and trying to kill people)

Thanks for clearing up what the reference means.
