We still don't know what is it about but do you think we should be excited about this? Some are saying that this is a way to have bitcoin without the need of internet connection, others are saying to run nodes in space etc.

I'm not sure about you but I personally don't think it has anything to do with space, I mean doesn't that require millions, If not billions of investment? unless whatever they are going to provide will have fees and will be widely used, I don't think Its something realistic.

Well that is something we will keep an eye on but I will not expected this to be a hundred percent successful well because of the lack of proof and explanation is needed and a video that doesn't tell all would not be a 100% proof for a community to make an innovation like this, well it is truly a great step for other people that don't have internet access can surely be please by this project, and like you said it will need a great amount of money well let's just wait fo another announcement.

I will be keeping an eye on this one. The video is very interesting, I am not sure either what the video is about but what ever it is, it sounds fascinating. Imagine, Accessing the blockchain without the internet?? Now that would be revolutionary. We live in interesting times in deed.

If they think that they are making Bitcoin more accessible for the poor, by charging $100 for that privilege.. then they are

underestimating the poverty levels. You might think $100 is relatively cheap for a 1st world country, but it is a lot of money

in the third world countries. We might need to subsidize that cost with funding via Charity donations.  It is definitely a

good move with WWIII rumours trending at the moment. {During war, internet access will be disrupted}

You can't magic the required tech out of thin air. At least it's out there waiting to be tapped.

It is a slightly odd one. A mobile phone costs less and already does the same thing, however this is one of those things that should throw up some currently un thought of possibilities.

It really is! This could seriously change the BTC game. It's innovations like this that will get BTC to that $25k mark.

This is great idea considering that no government controls Space.  However Blockstream owning the satellite alone would kind of encourage Centralization and Monopoly.
What if the Satellite is shutdown by Military Laser or powerful Missile?  These all should be taken into consideration.

Currently blockstream satellite is only one-way,  to receive new blocks and to ensure node synchronization. Yeah, but to initiate transactions you would need internet access/mobile data, but cheaper communication technologies like SMS or satellite internet services/bi-directional satellite could be used instead.

Currently the system is only one-way. It provides a way to receive new blocks and ensure nodes stay in sync. However, transactions can be sent using other communication channels such as SMS or conventional satellite internet services. As transaction data is very small, even using the most expensive satellite internet service, it would cost less than $0.01 per transaction.
