Hi, folks! I'm planning to build a cheap rig for scrypt mining. What would you say about this GPU?

ATI Radeon MSI HD 7950 GDDR5 3072 Mb (R7950-3GD5/OC BE) (602-V276-Z07)



It costs ~320$. How much kHash i'll get with it?

Search "Litecoin Mining Hardware Comparison" on Google and hope/pray someone has submitted info regarding that card.  Otherwise, no one can tell you anything.  Even if the card is identical to another card that's capable of 600kh/s.. it doesn't mean the MSI one will do the same.  One major factor that contributes to poor hash rates (besides poorly config files) is cooling capability.  If the card is running hot then hash rates will drop.  Do some research, practice due diligence and make a decision based off on that.

In my opinion, I'd stay away from GPU's with one fan only.  They usually tend to run hotter than dual fan setups.  Try Gigabyte or Sapphire cards with 2 or more fans.

510kh/s sounds kinda low.  Are you purposely setting it to that performance to reduce heat/power consumption or is that the best you can get out of it?  What's your settings?  I get 660kh/s with my 7950 but it's a Sapphire Dual-X.

I'm currently getting 686 K/Hs with that Gigabyte card. Try these setings:
