Hello there!

I've fucked up I guess.

I bought this stuff:

- 12 power risers v006c 6-pin:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/PC-PCIe-PCI-E-PCI-Express-Riser-Card-1x-to-16x-USB-3-0-Data-Cable/32814620119.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10152_10065_10151_10068_10307_10137_10060_10155_10134_10154_10333_10334_10056_10335_10055_10054_10059_10332_100031_10099_10103_10102_10052_10053_10142_10107_10050_10051_10326_10084_10083_10080_10082_10081_10177_10110_10111_10112_10113_10114_10312_10313_10314_10315_10078_10079_10073,searchweb201603_1,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=35bacd27-1911-4e96-8a06-4cd82feeae82&algo_expid=4ba94ee9-d9ae-4724-b7a1-dcb47aaffdc8-0&algo_pvid=4ba94ee9-d9ae-4724-b7a1-dcb47aaffdc8&transAbTest=ae803_2

- 6x GPU: SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 580 8 GB (11265-01-20G)

here it comes: the GPU needs 6+2 *AND* 6-pin pluggin to PSU......
I plan to buy TWO PSU (750w - 850w. w/e)

since I want to connect all GPU pins and the power riser's 1:1 to the PSU with the 6-pin I have no idea which PSU can do this with enough cables.... any advice?

Best wishes

If you want to use dual 750W or 850W PSU's, they only have four PCI-E connectors each. You are going to need 8-pin to 6+2 pin PCI-E splitter cables and dual sata to PCI-E 6-pin converters.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/20CM-Black-Sleeved-8-Pin-PCI-E-GPU-to-Dual-8-6-2-Pin-Splitter-PC/32688175733.html

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Deconn-SATA-15-Pin-Male-to-PCI-Express-6-Pin-Dual-Video-Card-Adapter-Cable/32584991290.html

First PSU powers the motherboard, CPU, accessories + use two of the four PSU PCI-E connectors to power four 6-pin risers using a 8-pin PCI-E to dual 6+2 splitter cable, connecting two risers per PSU PCI-E cable and then use two dual sata to 6-pin PCI-E converter cables to power the other two 6-pin risers, one riser to each PSU sata cable. Use the remaining two PCI-E connectors on the first PSU to power two of the GPU's 8-pin + 6-pin power inputs using the cable 6-pin pigtails or a 8-pin to 6+2 splitter cable.

Second PSU only powers the remaining four GPU 8-pin + 6-pin powers inputs using the cable 6-pin pigtails or a 8-pin to 6+2 splitter cable. Connect only one GPU per PSU PCI-E cable.

I would go with dual EVGA 850W G2 PSU's since two of the PCI-E cables have a 8-pin + 6-pin pigtail that you need. If you go up to a EVGA 1000W G2, it has 6 PCI-E connectors that can power the six GPU  8-pin + 6-pin power inputs and then use a 750W G2 to power the motherboard, all the risers and everything else.

while using 2 psu's is normal and a solid choice there are other options also. previously it was advised to use a 1000w evga and a 750w combined.
take a look at the evga
https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=220-P2-1600-X1
reduces space and allows enough power on a single rail to run the entire 6 gpu that your talking about!

The 1600 G2 or P2 has nine PCI-E connectors. You would still need to use 8-pin to 6+2 splitter cables to connect all the GPU power inputs and 6-pin risers.

Don't forget to utilize the 4-pin molex connectors. You can usually get 2x 4 pin to 1x 6 pin PCIe power adapters for a few bucks each.

For example: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-2-Pack-Molex-Power/dp/B01DV1Z22K

You can safely use this with 2x 4-pin molex connectors on one string, then use them to power one riser.

Additionally, if you buy a new modular EVGA PSU, their customer service is pretty nice about sending free extra cables (to a reasonable limit), at least in my experience. The SATA and Peripheral ports on the PSU end can be used for either purpose, so you could substitute a string of molex connectors for SATA. (Don't mix cables from different modular PSUs, however.)

So if I would use PSU 4-pin molex to the 6-pin input riser:
- What PSU plug would this use? (output would be molex ofc!?)
- would the PSU to two 4-pin molex adapter use one cable per riser right?

So I got basically the following set-up?:

Could you answer and help me with the = *...* ? (Because I'm not sure if I can use one cable to power more than one "thing")

one PSU:
- three 6+2 pin cables -> 3 GPU (one per GPU) = using how many and which (PIN) PSU slots?
- three 6-pin cables -> 3 GPU (one per GPU) = using how many and which (PIN) PSU slots?
- three 6-pin riser (throwing sata adapter in trash)
- three 6-pin to two 4-pin molex adapter = using how many and which (PIN) PSU slots?

=total of nine? slots I need at each PSU? three 6+2 and six 6-pin?

Which PSU do you recommend?
I filtered some products, I might have done it wrong maybe you could set me a correct filter for this set-up. /9KoZaj]https://[Suspicious link removed]/9KoZaj

Did I understood you correct that if I go with EVGA 850W g2 I do NOT need any adapter/splitter? If this is true, could I also take EVGA 850w p2? It has one 4+4-pin less https://www.digitec.ch/en/Comparison/5919805-6134387. If I still need adapter/splitter would the 6-pin to two 4-pin molex strategy (see posts below) work aswell instead the splitters you mentioned?

You will still need to use 8-pin to 6+2 splitters and sata/4-pin molex to 6-pin PCI-E adapters regardless. The EVGA 850 G2 or P2 come with same connectors. Each EVGA 850 G2/P2 PSU has four 8-pin PCI-E cables, two of which also have a 6-pin pigtail. So two 850 G2/P2 PSU's would give you a total of eight 8-pin PCI-E connectors + four 6-pin PCI-E pigtail connectors. You need a total of six 8-pin and six 6-pin PCI-E connectors for the GPU power inputs. Using the four PSU pigtail cables is enough for four of the cards, for the other two, you will need to use a 8-pin to 6+2 splitter cable for each of the cards.

For the six 6-pin powered risers, you have two PSU PCI-E 8-pin cables left that can power two risers each using a 8-pin to 6+2 splitter cable. For the other two risers, you would need to use a dual sata/4-pin molex to 6-pin PCI-E adapter cable, connecting only one riser per PSU strand. I like to use the sata connectors to power the risers since there are more sata ports on the PSU than 4-pin peripheral ports and I use the molex connectors to power the motherboard PCI-E supplemental power.

Seasonic SS-860 (platinum) or X-850 (gold) have 6 x 6+2 connectors stock - out of production but the SS-860 was still in stock at Newegg as of a couple weeks ago.
The EVGA G2/P2 850s are also good supplies, I wouldn't hesitate to use them if you prefer them, though they've also been out of production for a bit.

Your risers appear to come with adapters to run them from a SATA power connection, so you should be OK there - all of those PS have plenty of SATA power cabling no need to "split anything out" to run them.
