Hi,
I installed MultiBit and created a wallet. I then created an account with slush's pool at mining.bitcoin.cz in my slush's pool account I created 3 workers. I then installed GUIMiner selected slush's pool as my server and entered my user-name and password. The Device selected in my GUIMiner is my Graphics card (Quadro 2000) and then I have the choice of selecting CPU Affinity, I have 8 cpus to pick. I click start mining but nothing seems to happen. My machine isn't crunching and my task manager shows no activity ? Also the GUIMiner gives me the error of IO errors - 1, tolerance 2

Anyone know what steps I may be missing ?

Thanks in advance.

Did you follow the instructions on slush's website word by word?

For example did you make sure that you use Username_Worker as username in GUIminer?

Since I do not know which guiminer version you're using try selecting "other" from the server selection and enter the server adress manually.

That's the first two things to check that come to my mind, since that error message is kind of vague but at least points at some problem in the communication between GUIMiner and the mining pool.

Thank you. You were right, I needed to make my username as you suggested.
