USB Linux wallet

I'd like to run my BTC wallet from a USB pendrive. I currently use bitcoin-qt which stores the blocks locally and therefore takes up a boatload of disc space.
The largest pendrive I currently have is only 8Gb - is there a way to do this?

Use a lightweight wallet client such as Electrum or Multibit.

Another alternative would be to install the blockchain.info chrome app on your pen drive web browser. This means you only need to trust the initial javascript download (much the same as trusting any initial client download). Provided you don't use that browser/OS for anything but bitcoin, it should be secure.

install linux on your pendrive and run it as a normal drive when you need to. Use www.pendrivelinux.com along with a linux distro .iso
I'd recommend linux mint as it is very simple to use for newbies. Just search google for the latest linux mint .iso
pendrivelinux application only works on windows.
