I don’t mind a future where a clone coin takes over Bitcoin. It may be good. It may be bad. It depends on the coin. Most probably it would a better coin when you think about it, because who would switch all their money in Bitcoin to another currency if they are worse off with that altcoin. This statement makes sense when you are talking about Bitcoin’s store of value and coin scarcity. However, it doesn’t really affect the other crypto world. For example, when Bitcoin forked to create Bitcoin cash, it did not have an adverse affect on Bitcoin price. Rather it increased Bitcoin price. The same thing with Ethereum. So this statement works for the coin being cloned, but not for any other coin.
