I've been lurking for quite a while now and see many various questions and suggestions in regard to investing/hodling/gaining +losing. I'd like to recommend five basic tips for everyone.

#1 Do your own research.
#2 NEVER invest what you can lose to afford.
-HODL, (hold onto dear life), if you can't wait, don't be part of the game.
#3 Invest in what you know about.
- If i was a doctor, I wouldn't try to convince a lawyer about something about the law if I had no idea what I was talking about. Nor if I was a doctor, I wouldn't ever seek medical advise from a lawyer.
#4 Don't listen to Finance people, yes that includes you "Investment Bankers/ Corporate Finance/ Buy-Sell side guys/,"old-timers" just because you can't make a valuation because there is no cash flow doesn't determine no value. Stay in the stock game, not the crypto-game.
#5 I'm all out of equity stocks and I recommend investing Bitcoin for the future.  Nothing against, the stock market, I recommend you invest in the stock market too. (NYSE,NASDAQ,DAX, etc.)

Extra bonus tip.  Cool

Solid advices. I'm all about #2 and #3 now. If I believe in it and think it has a place, I'm all in for the long hurl. The only thing I'm looking to perfect is selling at peak and buying at dips to accumulate more

Honest truth, the resource of free-flowing information an at times be limited. It is a resource to be informed and knowledgable about various topics. Don't be the "Bitcoin" or "Ethereum" person, be the Crypt0-currency person.

Also, good to hear about you #2 + #3 Bowtiesarecool, hopefully the information is useful and you are able to be successful with your investments.

Once again, we're looking at a new digital asset class that is a once in lifetime opportunity, the chance of another "bitcoin" or something similar to this extremely unlikely in our next lifetime.

Thank you for great tips. I also believe there is learning barrier when it comes to stocks and crypto market. It is very hard to find accurate info cause info = money. Most people don't wanna share money. I tried hard to learn about in my free time at even work. I finally started to feed on info.
My bonus tip: Always buy dividend sharing stocks.
And anon cryptocoins are better as currencies.

What I find hard to do when doing my own research is to know what to believe and what is not. What is for real news and what is for hype or fud alone? It is not like in stock market there is already some trusted names, but in crypto, even trusted names are biased.
