While I have little understanding of the technical side behind the maths I'm interested in how Bitcoin can continue to dominate in the Cryptocoin market. If you are technically minded, please reply if you have an opinion about my question. Is it possible for the Bitcoin network to coordinate a 51% attack against Bytecoin?

Regardless of the ethical considerations I'd just like to know if it's possible. Also other coins, LTC, PPC etc... maybe some of the smaller ones would be more vulnerable, FTC, CNC and so on.

Any ideas on how it could or could not be done would be welcomed. (I'm not really interested in the morality, just the reality)

It (probably) isn't possible to coordinate that many miners to waste their power on a coin just to devalue it.

LTC has enough hashing power that it is safe from attack, smaller coins could be obliterated by large server farms.

My name was simply a play on "Blue Engineer" from Team Fortress. I am not affiliated with Microsoft or the Azure project.
