So I downloaded the new monero GUI wallet 11.0.0 and I sent a little monero to it from bittrex I used the standard address (no payment ID). I sent it about 45 min ago and it is still not showing up in my wallet does anyone know if I did something wrong by entering the standard address only or what?

You need to wait for your Wallet to sync completely before testing, if everything is fine and still have not received, you can check out more on Blockchain or wait a few hours!

Yes, you have to synchronize your wallet. But there is a way to make it much faster. Here is the link to official monero "wiki".
Main thing is to download blockchain manually by this link https://downloads.getmonero.org/blockchain.raw.
After this you have to import it to the wallet, this process depends on your OS - it's described at provided link.
Soon after wallet finishes import process you have to sync the last blocks. And here is one more hint to speed up it.


There is one more method, even more easy.
You can just use online wallet:

It is listed here on official website: https://getmonero.org/downloads/

Yea when I posted my question, my wallet said synced (It was syncing for maybe 5 days) then a few minutes later (after I posted) it said it was still syncing. Is it normal for it to take this long I never had a wallet take more than 1 or 2 days..
